Trini Lopez Cocktail Party

Join us for a festive cocktail party celebrating the new Trini Lopez Exhibit at the Oasis Museum. Discover the life and legacy of the iconic folk-rock musician and Latino cultural trailblazer. You’ll be immersed in the colorful world of Trini Lopez through his costumes, guitars, gold records, awards and personal artifacts. The film "My name is Lopez" plays on a loop so you can see his life unfold on screen.

Discover the story of Trini’s remarkable career: his friendships with legends Frank Sinatra and the Rat Pack, the Beatles, Elvis Presley, starring in films including The Dirty Dozen, and how he became a beloved part of the Palm Springs scene.

Co-sponsored by the Shag Store. Proceeds will help benefit the Palm Springs Historical Society.

Shag artwork

Attendees will receive a Shag exhibit poster and meet the artist Josh Agle, known as Shag, plus members of the Lopez family. The directors for the film, "My name is Lopez" P. David Ebersole and Todd Hughes, and producers Joan and Gary Gand will be in attendance.

Lauded for his high energy Spanish-English performances infusing Latin, Afro and Brazilian influences.

The exhibit was created by Gary Gand with memorabilia from his personal collection, costumes loaned by the Lopez family, plus rare record albums and singles from the Ebersole-Hughes collection and original artwork by Shag.

If I Had A Hammer

Listen to Trini's 1963 cover of "If I Had A Hammer" originally written by Pete Seeger and Lee Hays. With Trini's spin it took off selling over one million copies and awarded a gold disc.
