Tour 9 - "Boom Town the Story of Uptown Palm Springs"
Friday 9:30 am
The regular Walking Tour Season will resume again in October. Tickets available now. During the summer months you can also arrange a private tour by calling the museum at 760-323-8297.
Follow the footsteps of desert dreamers from 1925 to the present. Along the way learn about the three "boom" periods: pre-WWII, postwar, and today.
Now known as the "Uptown Design District" for its boutiques and galleries, the area is one of the most historic and colorful in the city.
Hear about the movers-and-shakers who built the city, and the Hollywood celebrities who made this town their favorite getaway. Explore the architecture that is an important part of the city, from Spanish Colonial Revival to Mid-Century Modern.
Stops include some of the town's earliest resort hotels, which to this day reflect the relaxing and glamorous atmosphere Palm Springs is known for.
